Public Service Announcement: Code Quality is a Feature

I’ve always been concerned about the lack of prioritization of code quality in most development teams. In this video, I suggest that every team should have a person focused on quality who is experienced and has a deep understanding of delivering high-quality solutions. I feel that quality work is often ignored due to lack of experience or because it is put into the “technical debt” bucket, which can lead to serious issues for the project and unhappy customers. In this video, I provide various resources to learn about quality, such as reading my books and blogs, attending the annual Code Quality Conference, and learning from passionate developers. I emphasize the importance of making quality a top priority at the start of a project or sprint and not letting it slip due to the schedule. I also advise managers to designate an experienced engineer as the “Code Quality Zar” or hire one to improve the quality of their projects and attract more customers.

I hope you will give this PSA a watch. Please share with your fellow software engineers.
